I borrowed this book from my sister last may and have tried to sit down and read it several times. It was so hard to get into! I love historical books, especially when there is a lot of truth to them! I really wanted to read this book, so about two weeks ago I decided to give it one last attempt. And this time I started all the way over! I finally finished it! It was such a great book! I have to admit that I am a VERY patriotic person. I really have only spent two weeks out of the country, but I know how blessed I am to live here! I seriously cry every 4th of July with all the music and fireworks...I am such a nerd! Anyway what I really wanted to share was the spiritual side of the book for me. Several times during the book they would say it was a "miracle they survived" or only "God could have spared their lives." I guess I haven't really given it much thought, but it is hard to deny that they founding fathers were lead to make this a free country. So if you enjoy historic books, and have a few weeks to SLOWLY read a book...this was a very well written and researched book. (In my opinion!)

I loved this book too- it really made the founding fathers come to life. I just finished a great book that was a continuation of one I read earlier. It was called The Collectors by David Baldacci and the first one is The Camel Club. You would love it cause it has mystery and suspense- they'll be good books for you to read this summer when Emma's playing in the backyard.

I have been wanting to read this book. I am afraid that if I start, my family won't see me for the next few weeks. Oh, but I think you have inspired me!

I feel your pain when it comes to this book. It's in my personal Hall of Shame. I tried to get through it for a over a month and I never could. Finally the library wouldn't let me renew it so it haunts me from some distant shelf. I'm reading one about Ben Franklin now and I can't quit early; a two-book losing streak would be too much.

The blog is great, your Oklahoma fan club checks it often!
