Do you remember that primary song...the pioneer children sang as they walked, and walked, and walked...Well that is how I feel about yesterday. When I did a little search on the internet, that seemed to be the #1 way to get a baby here. So after taking Emma to preschool I set out on my first walk of the day. Just around the block (it's 1 mile, we love it) It was so nice outside and I actually got to use my IPOD! Since I have been pregnant and not working out (oops!) I haven't used it forever! My new favorite CD's to walk, or drive, or just anything are Nelly Furtado (just fun beats), and Hilary Duff's new CD dignity (I can't believe I am admitting this, but I love her, her music is up beat and clean). So I felt like I was walking about as fast as I could.
After getting Emma home from preschool and having some lunch, I decided we should head to the zoo! I would have loved to call some friends to go with us, but I seriously decided at the last minute and we were out the door in 10 minutes! I think I am realizing my spontaneous life is about to end! Anyway I always take the same route at the zoo, usually with friends it takes around 2 hours...it only took us an hour and 15 minutes, I was cruising! The definate highlight of the zoo was seeing the baby elephant! He is so cute! I wanted to climb the fence and go pet him (FYI- I am not a big animal person, they kind of gross me out...but this elephant is too cute). Here is a pic of the baby elephant and Emma standing on her stroller to look at him. The elephants are at the end of the zoo, and I was way to exhausted to lift her up to see. Don't worry Mom I was holding on to her and the stroller! Oh and for friends here in Louisville the baby elephant is usually out from 10-12 and 2-4, thought I should pass that on.
We got home at about the same time as Jon, when I remembered he had some nurse coming over to take blood, and whatnot for disability insurance. Because I had pretty much neglected the house for walking we had to do a mad dash to pick up the place. I just wanted to lay down and go to sleep. When the nurse came, I was sitting on the couch, and Emma said Mom we were going to take a walk while the lady was here rememeber...let's go. So off we went around the block again!
So it is pretty pathetic that 3 one mile walks pretty much killed me (there was a pit stop to Target too), My hips are just not the same when I am pregnant. I pretty much figured if I don't go into labor tonight, this baby is just not ready. Sure enough I am still here, with a huge stomach. I haven't decided what to do today, I am actually a little grateful for the chance of rain, to stay inside! I had a million things yesterday, that I thought oh I will post about that, but now I can't remember any of them. Plus I think this is quite long enough. Hope everyone has a great day!

You're too funny- I admit when I saw the picture of Emma standing in her stroller that was my first thought! I wish there was something I could do to help you out but it sounds like you're doing everything neccessary. I'm so excited to see Emma and play with her- I hope she has lots of songs to sing for me!!
That is so funny...it's weird how your body just naturally slows down when your pregnant and things that used to be so easy take ALL your energy! Keep walking, though, and definitely DON'T resort to castor oil! I think I may have already commented on that, but if not, let's just say I was desperate to get Parker here, so I took some...it made me miserable, but didn't get him here any sooner!
Darn it Mand! I wish there was something I could do for you. The last part is hard, and you are right, you feel like you can't do anything. I am SO impressed with your energy! Keep doing what you are doing! I am so excited for you guys.
I can't believe how much walking you did yesterday, and, out of all things, the zoo! Our zoo and wild animal park are very hilly. I struggled when I was pregnant walking around both those places. I felt like my feet were going to fall off and the the heaviness of my belly made me feel like my whole stomach was going to fall through my legs. I've heard that there are certain pressure points on your body that can induce labor. I had a massage while pregnant and the lady told me if you press on the area in between your thumb and finger that could induce labor. I've also heard massaging your nipples can induce labor. Is that too graphic for your blog? I just thought that one was funny. Anyway, it sounds like you are getting really creative with ways to get the baby here. Hopefully it's not too much longer!
My Gosh! I'm not pregnant and your day wore me out!! Sounds like it was a beautiful day. I'll bet we have just about the same weather every day. Yesterday was sunny and today is cloudy. No rain yet, but it is cloudy. I guess we'd better enjoy your blogs for now...you might be a little busy in the next several weeks. I hope you keep the blog going so we can keep up to date on you! Hang in there...it will all be over soon!
I'm so proud that my niece has great fashion sense...those sunglasses are the cutest things I've ever seen! I loved texting with you yesterday morning, it was so fun! I hope you're feeling more comfortable today and the baby comes soon!
*Warning--the following comment may be too graphic for the faint of heart.*
There was a lady in our ward in Austin who had 8 kids, and for the last 6 (or something) she would always put a big sweatshirt on, and go for a very brisk walk WHILE she was rubbing her nipples. She swears it worked for her everytime. I think she also took castor oil before the walk. But I wouldn't recommend it. Don't know what the sweatshirt was for--probably to make the nipple rubbing less conspicuous. It's hilarious to think what people do to go into labor. Good luck!
