Easter (yes I know it August!)

I love Easter! But when I look back to I don't remember much! My sweet little Owen was about a month old...so we were still adjusting to a new life and 3 little ones! I loved the girls Easter dresses and thought they looked so sweet in them! We left for California that night! That will come in the next post!

Owen Christian Fairbanks

Well I finally got my pictures thanks to Lindsey taking pity on me and running to Inkley's to pick them up for me! 

Owen was born March 16 at 9:16 pm he weighed 7 pounds and 2 ounces and was 20 inches long! I went to the hospital at 7 and after checking in and 5 attempts at placing an IV (definitely the worst part of the day!) They finally placed it in the middle of my forearm, thanks to a nurse who worked with cancer patients before switching to labor and delivery! At 9 they finally started my pitocin-- I thought for sure this would really get things rockin' and rollin' but no luck! My dr suggested getting my epidural to relax me and he would break my water at 2 pm. Owen would not drop!!! We were pretty sure he knew he had a scary Sophie to come home too so he was holding on as tight as he could to my ribs!  So finally at 8:30 pm I was still at a 4 and just starting to thin! Well I don't know what really happened but all the sudden I started to finally progress and I only had to push through one contraction and the little guy just popped out! The great part about Owen not dropping was that his little head was perfect! He didn't look like we had beaten him! Lindsey was brave and came in the room with us and luckily my mom made it in time to be there too! Chelsea came in to get her cell phone that she left with my mom...she really should have just stayed because I had him 10 minutes later! 

So far Owen has been a great baby! He actually sleeps "most" nights from 10-4 am (LUCKY ME!!!) He is so fun to cuddle and he gets lots of kisses from his sisters! Sophie is still learning to not call him a her...she constantly is saying 'I hold her!' Sophie has adjusted much quicker than I thought she would...she likes that I sit and feed him and she can have my undivided attention for a bit. Emma on the other hand finds it quite boring and I have been lining up as many play dates as possible to keep her occupied!

Baby Owen

Ok I have been hassled a little for some pics and update on Owen... 

It took me about 5 days after having him to realize that I lost every single picture on my camera from having him! I was totally sick to my stomach. It took me about another 5 days to take my card into a camera store and beg them to figure out how to get the pictures back! It took about 10 minutes for the guy at the store to call me back and say he retrieved 600 pictures off the card!!! Unfortunately I just haven't made it back to the store to pick up the pics! I am still a little nervous to drag 3 kids anywhere! I promise as soon as I do I will update my blog!!!

We decided to take a quick break and head to CA for Emma's birthday! It was really rainy but was still way warmer! For Emma's birthday we went to the American Girl Store in LA where Emma's doll got her ears pierced and her hair done. And Sophie got to pick out her baby for Christmas. It was so much fun! I thought Sophie would be too little to understand what she was doing but she loved every minute of it! The worst part of the trip was the 2 hour drive home! The traffic was horrible! Poor Lindsey got stuck being in the back seat with a very delirious Sophie, who would alternate from screaming as loud as she could to laughing!

The Fairbanks Family Christmas Party! We went to Temple Square and then spent the night at a hotel! It was so fun to go swimming and just be able to relax! It was so much warmer than when we went the week before! 

All but 4 of the grandkids! Sophie is the 2nd from the left...and Emma is the second from the right, although you can barely see her! 

Just a side note...the night we went was the closest the moon has been to the 

earth since 1990-something!

Emma's Christmas Dance recital, they got to wear a christmas party dress! She did awesome!

Christmas Eve we went to a party at the Yeates house (my sister-in-law Jana's parents house) where the kids always do the nativity. Its always a little interesting! This year Emma was Mary and she had two Josephs! It was so fun to be with a big huge family!

Christmas Morning! We are lucky that our kids still don't really understand and we got to sleep in until 8:30...something that my parents never got to do!!! 

Sophie was pretty stoked that Santa left behind some cookies! 

Sophie actually got pretty into the whole opening presents! I didn't think she would care too much! 

Temple Square trip #1

After my HS Reunion (I know I still need to post about that!) my HS girlfriends decided that since half of us live in the same state and NEVER see each other that we should meet and go see the lights at Temple Square! We met at my friend Robyn's house for some awesome taco soup (Thanks Rob!) and then headed to temple square. It was as always, beautiful! If you have a chance to go their new (At least new for us!) nativity on the water is so pretty! It was of course freezing!!! Luckily it was a warm up trip for us because we are going tomorrow night for our Fairbanks Family Christmas Party. Note to self: Remember stroller, blankets, hats that fit, and teach Sophie to wear gloves!

I WAS RIGHT....

Wow! Finally on my third baby I am right! I still have to admit that even though I was sure it was a boy, I was still shocked! This will be quite the new adventure! Although regardless of what the baby is...I am pretty sure the 3rd will be crazy either way! Jon is super excited! I'm just nervous! I have all sisters and two girls...I KNOW girls! But on the other hand I have 10 absolutely darling nephews that I can use as guides and can call to come teach my little guy how to be a boy! No sissies allowed! Emma is surprisingly excited! She wanted another girl...but mostly because that is all she knows! She is ready to take on a little bro!

Halloween

Halloween is so crazy! The second we arrived at Brandon and Jana's, Emma disappeared so she isn't really in any pics! So my scary husband dressed up as a hunter, I was an expecting angel (ha ha), Emma was belle, and Sophie was a ladybug! It was lots of fun! And I am making a goal to be better prepared next year! Linz and Matthew popped in for a minute to see the girls! It was fun to see them all dressed up!
